NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Pfizer Inc. said on Wednesday that it would offer its generic version of Viagra to customers in the United States without requiring a prescription.
Viagra, the active ingredient in Viagra and Pfizer's generic, will be available through a federal health care program and online from December 15 through January 31.
Viagra is the generic version of Pfizer's erectile dysfunction drug Pfizer's blockbuster drug that helps men regain and sustain erections when they're ready for sexual activity.
Viagra is the drug's second-biggest selling drug after Cialis. Viagra has been available in the United States since 2001.
